  • Events are something instantaneous & important to the system
  • Events might be related to each other then they are causal related (synchronous)
  • Events might be no related or not depedent on sequence, so these can be concurrent or asyncronous
  • Events may be generalized into types
  • Events might have parameters
  • There may be conditions attached to events.
  • Example: Signal passage can only be authorized if the next section of rail has no trains
  • Objects send events to each other as messages
  • External environment may generate events that are trapped by I/O objects
  • I/O objects may send events to the external system
