Java has not gone through extensive trials for application as has C++
The quality of user interface is dependent on features available on all supported platforms
Java suffers (though not a lot) performance penalty for interpreted code
There are many hundreds of commercial libraries that are not currently supported by Java
There are a limited number of commercial libraries available today
Java does not co-exist with C++
